Commemorating the events that happened both on the park's lands and in the nearby area, the Arkansas Post National Memorial pays tribute to events including the establishment of first semi-permanent settlement by Europeans in the valley in 1686 and a 1783 battle that was part of the Revolutionary War. The site was also a battlefront during 1863 when the Battle of Fort Hindman occurred and today historic weapons demonstrations take place at the park. Explore the visitors center and museum to get a feel for the area's long and storied history, or just enjoy the outdoors with fishing the surrounding waters or a hike along the park's two miles of trails. Situated on the eastern edge of the state, about 55 miles by car from Pine Bluff, the park is also a great place to do some wildlife spotting.
Open daily 8:00 a.m. - dark.
Free.
